The British Tourist Authority has named Janette Huskie, of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, as a Destination Specialist for Britain after Graduating from the educational course for Travel Agents in the United States.

The educational course, called the BritAgent Program, is the most important initiative introduced by the British Tourist Authority for Travel Agents in the United States and is designed especially to give them the knowledge and resources they need to provide specialized services to people booking their vacation to Britain. The BritAgent Program is supported by more than 30 major suppliers of British travel products and services, including airlines, tour operators, car rental companies, hotels and UK regional tourist boards. This ensures that BritAgents have extensive information on products and services that will make a visit to Britain extra special.

The BritAgent educational program is a self-study program developed and written by the Institute of Certified Travel Agents (ICTA) in consultation with the British Tourist Authority and the Tourist Boards of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as Guernsey and Jersey Tourism. Once the BritAgents have studied the course, they then have to pass a test before they become Graduated BritAgents. The BritAgents are up-to-date with all that is new and developing in Britain.

They have exclusive access to a website, receive a monthly newsletter with sponsoring supplier information, attend workshops throughout the year and participate in Study Tours to Britain.
