Some Tips and Ideas to help make that family trip a happy memory

Keep A Travel Diary A family we know has encouraged their kids from an early age to keep travel diaries. Here's how it works: At the end of the day, sit down wherever you are--in your your hotel room or waiting for a bus back to the hostel. Take out an exercise book and colored pencils, and get each child to write or draw something about their day. If your children prefer, you can let them dictate what they'd like written in their diaries. Later they can add to the pages with pressed flowers and leaves, brochure clippings, postcards, and photographs.
