	Robert Austin "Bob" Bobi	Died October 15, 2009
Robert Donald Austin, age 66, born May 3, 1943, a lifelong resident of Snohomish county, passed away at home October 15, 2009, after a long corageous battle with cancer. He is survived his wife, Bobi; son, Don (Dee); daughter, Kim; brothers, Russ and Gary; grandchildren, James, Josh, Nick, Robert, Dillon, DJ, Nick, Kassandra; and three great-grandchildren and other close family and friends; and his faithful companion "Champ." Bob will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by mother, Elma; father, John; and daughter, Stacy. Services were held Thursday, October 22, at 3:30 at the Bauer Funeral Home, Snohomish.

(September 9, 2006) Dear Family and Friends It has been 35 years since Warren, Lisa, Darin and I first drove a Volkswagen van from Belgium to Burundi, a trip that took us two months beginning the first term of our missionary career. What a lot has happened in those last 35 years, including twenty years of service in Haiti; Warren’s gone to be with the Lord in January 2002; my two months in the Philippines in 2003 and my marriage to Gerry in November of last year. While demonstrating solar cooking rice for our African Bishop, Buconyori Elie in the parking lot at Seattle Pacific University a couple of years ago, a tiny seed was planted in my heart to return to Burundi to teach solar cooking one day. As seeds do, it gradually began to sprout and take root as more than once I was asked about taking a trip to Africa to teach solar cooking. The need was presented to me and in time a dream was born. You can imagine the thrill and mixed feelings of a dream soon to come true. On October 3, 2006 my husband of ten months, Gerry Rockhill and I, along with Gary Hirayama will be realizing that dream together as we begin the flight to Bujumbura, Burundi where three days later we will be met by Dr. Frank and Carol Ogden as well as some of my former students and friends. The Lord has graciously provided the means for us to make this trip. Gerry and Gary will be helping Dr. Frank with some ‘fix it’ projects while I give several seminars on the Biblical principles and techniques of solar cooking to women in the heart of Africa who have never heard of solar cooking. We recognize our need for friends and family to back us with prayer support, and humbly request that you remember each of us before the Lord. Our prayer is that we will be a blessing to those we come in contact with, and that we will be able to minister to folks both physically and spiritually. The use of solar cooking lends itself well to the sharing of our God’s loving provision for those who don’t know Him and His desire to enter meaningfully into the lives of all. I pray that this will occur as people hear and experience the Word of God and His Light through these seminars. We’d love to get some families set up with solar cooking before we leave there. We could use some help with this part of the dream. 	Don Bennett	Died Nov. 11, 2008
Donald Lawrence Bennett, 61, died on Nov. 11, 2008 at his home in Libby. He was born on Aug. 16, 1941 in Troy to Robert and Edith (Yeager) Bennett. He grew up during his early years in Libby and later moved to Monroe, Wash. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served four years on an ammunition ship in the South Pacific. He later served five years in the Merchant Marines on board an ammunition ship delivering supplies to the U.S. Armed Forces in Vietnam. He then worked for a short time on ferry boats to Alaska. He worked several years for the Fluke Co., in Everett, Wash. He moved to Troy to retire and later to Libby. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting and riding his Harley motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edith; and a sister, Patricia. Survivors include his brother, Robert J. Bennett, Newport, Wash.; and a sister, Nancy Sofie, Dallesport, Wash. Services were held Friday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery. Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
	Judy Bloor Couch	Died March 23, 2010
Judith L. Couch passed on March 23, 2010 after her long fight against Huntington's Disease. She was born Judith Lee Bloor in Monroe, WA on August 6, 1943. Judy was raised in Monroe and has lived in Snohomish County all her life. As a child and teenager she was an active member in her church. She worked for Pioneer Bank and then Boeing for 15 years. Judith was preceded in death by her mother and father, Vada and Harry Bloor; and brothers, Leroy and Randall Bloor. She is survived by her two children, Eric Wilson and Michelle Long. In addition to her children, she is survived by two sisters, Marilyn and Christy; and three brothers, James, Craig and Dennis Bloor. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Judith was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Monroe Methodist Church.

(2006) I now live in Austin Texas, still married to the same man I married almost 44 years ago. Our children all live in Texas too. Gene and I are grandparents to four great children, one that came with our oldest son's marriage and the other three after the marriage. Our oldest son Rick had two sons, the 18year old and his biological son that is 2 and a 1/2 years old. Our youngest son Darren has two little girls, one age 5 and the youngest is just 2 years also. It has been fun being grandparents, even though we don't get to see the little ones as often as we would like. Our family is scattered all over Texas, Rick in San Antonio, Lynda (not married, but has lots of children that she teaches every year, not to mention her two dogs) is in Houston and Darren is in Dallas. We are in the middle of the state and enjoy the Austin area very much. Not as big as the other three cities I mentioned above, which we also like a lot. Gene and I have lived in many places over the years, all due to his job which is "Systems Consulting" for a huge company called CGI. They are out of Ottawa Canada. We have enjoyed living in the many places, meeting so many nice people and making many long lasting friendships. Our life has been "quite a ride"! Gene is looking to retire next year and then we hope to have more time to travel and spend as much time with family and friends as they want us too. I would love to hear from my not old classmates but long ago classmates.

(2011) After graduating from MHS, I attended Northwest College in Kirkland, WA, and Evangel College in Springfield, MO, where I earned a BS in Elementary Education. I taught one year of 1st grade at Granite Falls, WA. The summer of 1966 I moved to Michigan City, IN, where I taught first grade for 4 years. Dick and I were married in April 1968. He worked for Sullair, an air compressor company, as a designer/draftsman and later as a sales technician. For over 40 years we lived 2 blocks from Lake Michigan and a little more than an hour from downtown Chicago. We had 2 sons: Richard, Jr, born November 1970 and Stephen born February 1975. After both boys were in school, I did substitute teaching, worked as a library assistant at both the elementary and middle school levels, and finally worked as a middle school secretary/treasurer. Our family enjoyed being active in church and the Boy Scouts. We also did a fair amount of traveling, seeing much of the US from Indiana north to Lake Superior, west to Washington state and south to the Florida Keys. Dick retired in 2001 and I followed at the end of 2005. We have become "snowbirds" spending 3-5 months of Indiana's harsh winter in central Florida. Both sons, now married with 2 children each, are living in the Indianapolis area. In the fall of 2009, we moved from Michigan City to Noblesville, a NE suburb of Indianapolis. This gives us the opportunity to spend time with our boys and most especially our grandchildren, ages 17 months to 3 ½ years.

	Sharon Hagel Axelson	Died February 22, 2011
Sherry Marie (Hagel) Axelson was born September 12, 1943 in Monroe, WA to Al and Amelia Hagel. She passed away on February 22, 2011 at her mothers home with family by her side. Sherry remained in the area throughout her life. She loved horses, bingo and going to the casinos. She leaves behind her mother; brothers, Jack and Bob Hagel; sisters, Diane Waller, Norma Ratliff and Deb Scharf; son, Kirk Via; daughters, Angela Axelson and Amber Preyer; four grandchildren; one great- grandchild and her beloved dog, Mongo. Sherry was preceded in death by her father; sister, Loretta; and brother, Gene. A memorial was at 1:00 p.m., March 12 at Angela and Amber's home at 16110 NE 107th, Redmond, WA. (2006) After graduation in 1961, Nancy was fortunate to attend Washington State University for one and a half years. Afterwards, Nancy went to work for Seattle First National Bank at their Seattle Operations Center in the Data Processing division for the next seven years. In 1964, Nancy married Stanley R Heisley of Tacoma, Wa. Nancy and Stan were active in the Boeing Sports Car Club and Rainier Auto Sports Car Club in Bellevue. Nancy and Stan participated in sports car rallies all over the Pacific Northwest and western Canada for several years. Stan was the mathematical genius and Nancy could keep them on course. In 1970/71, Stan plotted the manpower analysis for the biggest layoff in Boeing history. The day his project was completed, Stan received the first pink slip. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Stan went to work for Chevron Oil Co, taking Nancy and Stan to Concord, California. Nancy and Stan divorced in 1976. Nancy went to work for Lesher Communications in the Data Processing Center in 1971. (Contra Costa Times newspaper ie: remember the newspaper widow that drowned in Arizona while with her young cowboy husband? That newspaper.) Nancy held various positions in the Data Processing/Accounting and advertising divisions for the next twenty-three years. Nancy’s daughter Jennifer was born in 1976. Nancy married R Lloyd Lawson of Antioch, Ca in 1978. Lloyd had two nearly grown children, Debbie and Mike. Nancy and Lloyd have visited 30 states of the US as well as Canada and Baja with 20+ trips to Washington. Nancy and Lloyd enjoy traveling in their motorhome and “camping” each year near Yosemite with their grandchildren. Lloyd worked in the Boiler-Maker/Pipefitting trade for many years prior to retiring. Lloyd is now very active in the Contra Costa County election volunteer program. Nancy has worked for Wells Fargo Bank for the past twelve years. Starting in their Credit Card Operations and for the last several years in the Online Customer Service Division. I envy my classmates that are retired. Nancy has a couple more years, and then hopes to join their ranks. Nancy is immersed in the Hutchins/Pitts and Lawson/Colon genealogy search, an ongoing project for the past 20 years. Besides genealogy, Nancy enjoys gardening, reading, crafts and grandchildren. Jennifer is the mother of six: Raymond (12), Angelina and Christina (11), Jessica (10), Marcel (5) and JayLynn (2.5). Debbie is the mother of three: Nicole (27), Rachael (25) and Scott (24). Mike is the father of two: Sara (15) and Holly (13). We are very proud of our children and grand-children.

I attended Monroe schools from '55 to '60. My folks moved to Marysville, where I graduated (but always considered myself a Bearcat). After high school I attended Everett Jr. College and then the Univ. of Wash., where I graduated in 1966 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After UW I went to work for the Boeing Co. I worked in Flight Test in Radio Communications. In 1967 I married Joyce Youngberg, a graduate of Everett High and an RN graduate of Everett General Hospital. We have two daughters and one grandson. I retired in 2003, after almost 37 years at the old kite factory. Now I spend my time with family, volunteering for community groups, in church activities, and at our beach house just south of Westport.

(2006) After graduating I worked in a meat packing plant here in Monroe until I got married in August of 1968. I had been hired as the bookkeeper, thanks to a very good recommendation from Mr. Wickizer, but wound up becoming part owner, when the boss skipped town with the company funds, and the employees that were left decided to incorporate. They had to wait to sign the final papers until I turned 21. In order to keep things going we all were forced to wear many hats. My hats included, bookkeeper, secretary, treasurer, meat wrapper, some meat cutting, patty machine operator, and even did the skinning on the kill floor. In 1968, I married Herman Bosse, who had a dairy farm a few miles out of Snohomish. We have two children, Angela, who is married and lives in Bakersfield, CA. She is a petroleum engineer for ChevronTexaco. She has three stepchildren ranging in age from 16 to 22. So I'm a grandma and loving it. Angela's husband Ken is a technician for Conoco Phillips. Our son Michael is a Civil Engineer (projects) with the City of The Dalles in Oregon. He and his wife Amy (Parkdale Post Office clerk & part time Post mistress) have three cats and they live in Mt. Hood/Parkdale, Oregon. In 1972, we sold the dairy farm in Snohomish and moved to Monroe. I ran a daycare out of our home for five years and then went to work for the Monroe School district as an Educational Assistant. I quit the district in 2001. Herman and I are both retired and love to travel. We've traveled to 19 countries and so far 40 states. We will be adding several more states this fall. We won't be able to attend the reunion because we will be in Portsmouth, New Hampshire that day. September 11th we are heading east to the New England States and Eastern Canada, for at least 6 weeks, maybe 8. We've been planning this for two years. Angela and Ken are flying back there to meet us. They are a fun couple to travel with. We've traveled with them in Europe and Alaska.

	Philip McCaffery	Phil Died November 1, 1996, in Kirkland		Need History
Phillip Lloyd McCaffery, 53, of Mill Creek, died November 1, 1996 in Kirkland. He was born April 26, 1943 in Snohomish, and had lived in the Mill Creek area for the past seven years. He was a member of the American Rifle Association, a member of the NRA Legion of Honor and had worked for GTE for many years. He was veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his daughter, MaReissa Dixon of Mallott, WA; father and stepmother, Lloyd and Nada McCaffery of Monroe; a brother, Michael and Roselle McCaffery of Graham, WA and four grandchildren, Mareissa, FaLeisha, Luke and David. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn McCaffery. Memorial services will be Wednesday, November 6, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Purdy & Kerr Funeral Home, Monroe.

After graduation from high school I went to Seattle Pacific College where I met Darwin Wisdom. It was a big surprise to learn he had been Ron Thompson's roommate and had been to Monroe many times. We were married in October 1964. Darwin was in the Army and we spent the next 2 yrs on the East coast. We enjoyed the many historical places, events and people we met. I worked in a manufacturing company that was making experimental equipment for RCA... for a "color" television. When we moved back to Washington I got a job in inspecting for United Control working on the Apollo Space project. In 1968 Darwin went into the F B I and we moved to Phoenix AZ where our daughter was born. After 1 yr. we were transferred to San Diego CA . (It was also the 1st year for the San Diego Padres) Our 2nd daughter and son were born here. In 1976 we built a house and moved to Poway, CA. Our children went through the schools here. In 1995 Darwin retired from the F B I after a 3yrs undercover sting against illegal telemarketers. He then started a P I business. We have 6 grandchildren...4 girls and 2 boys and we are blessed that they all live close by.

(2011) I attended Everett Junior College one year and then stayed out of school one year before finishing at Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa where I received a BA in Math in December 1966. I worked for Boeing as an engineer on the 747 program in flutter analysis for three years until the big layoffs in 1969-70 when the famous billboard read: "Will the last person leaving Seattle turn out the lights". While living in Seattle I met my future wife, Phyllis Johnson, in a church college/career class. She was working on her master's degree in librarianship at UW. We were married in January 1971. After the big layoffs, I was hired as computer programmer/analyst for the Washington State Dept. of Social and Health Services in September 1970 and worked there almost 39 years. The first 15 years I worked on various Health Division computer systems, mainly Vital Records. The remainder of the time I worked on the Social Services Payment System. Phyllis also worked for the State, first at the State Library and, after a break to stay at home with our children, as a librarian for the Dept. of Ecology. We both retired from the State on June 30, 2009. We have two children: Melinda (Mindy) and Jonathan (Jon). Mindy has two children: Lily (6) and Luke (3) and a third due in January. Mind, Mark and kids live in Altadena, California Jon has one child: Matthew (almost 2) and a second child due in October. Jon, Lisa and Matthew live is Burien. Needless to say, our grandchildren are the joys of our lives! Phyllis and I care for Matthew 2 days a week. We have been active in church activities all of our adult lives. I have sung in college, church and community choirs, including the Seattle Chorale (now the Seattle Symphony Chorale) and the last 9 years in Breath of Aire. Breath of Aire, a large choral group, mainly does benefit concerts around the Puget Sound area and occasionally weekend trips around the Northwest. We have also combined with The Gary Bonner Singers of southern California for two recording tours to Europe, the first to Spain and Italy and the second to Austria and the Czech Republic.
